The seasons
Peak season: December to April
Dry, sunny and mild, with highs in the mid-70s to low 80s. February and March are the busiest months, with the highest rates and the fullest beach lots. The Gulf is cool for swimming (67–72°F), which is where a heated pool earns its keep.
Shoulder months: April–May and November
Our favorite time. The Gulf is 74–82°F, it's still mostly dry, and crowds thin out. April and May have warm-water beach days, and November has pleasant evenings for the fire pit.
Summer: June to September
Hot (around 90°F) and humid, with the warmest water of the year (86–88°F). This is the rainy season. Expect short, heavy afternoon thunderstorms, so plan beach mornings and pool afternoons. About two-thirds of Naples' annual rain falls June through September, and August is the wettest month.
Hurricane season
The Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, and activity peaks around September 10. Most storms come between mid-August and mid-October. If you travel then, buy travel insurance that covers named storms, and book a rental with a clear hurricane policy. We refund nights covered by a mandatory evacuation order; see our hurricane policy.
Red tide
Red tide is a bloom of a naturally occurring algae (Karenia brevis). During a bloom it can irritate eyes and lungs at the beach and kill fish. It comes and goes and can't be predicted far ahead, so check the FWC status page during the week of your trip. The October 9, 2026 update showed only background levels off Collier County.
Getting here
- Southwest Florida International (RSW): about 30 minutes to north Naples via I-75.
- From Miami: about 2 hours across Alligator Alley (I-75, tolled).
- From Tampa: about 2 hours 45 minutes down I-75.
- Naples Airport (APF) is about 15–20 minutes away, but it has had no scheduled airline service since 2017. American Airlines has proposed Charlotte flights from December 2026; check before you book.
Drive times are estimates and depend on traffic.
Our saltwater pool and spa can be heated for winter visits ($300 per stay), so the pool is ready whatever the month.
