MLB spring training near Naples: the 2027 guide

The Red Sox and Twins both train in Fort Myers, about half an hour up I-75 from north Naples. Here are the 2027 dates, ballparks, parking and how to plan a game day.

Two major league teams spend every spring in Fort Myers: the Boston Red Sox at JetBlue Park and the Minnesota Twins at Hammond Stadium. Both ballparks are off the same I-75 exit, about 30 minutes from north Naples. The 2027 schedules came out in September 2026. When we checked in October 2026, game times and single-game tickets hadn't been announced.

A possible lockout

MLB's labor agreement expires December 1, 2026, and many reporters expect a lockout. MLB has released the 2027 spring schedules anyway. In 2022, a lockout delayed spring training and shortened it, and a long dispute could do the same in 2027. If you're planning travel around a specific game, watch the news over the winter.

Boston Red Sox: JetBlue Park

A smaller copy of Fenway Park, Green Monster included. The 2027 season starts with the Red Sox's usual exhibition against Northeastern University on Friday, February 19. The Grapefruit League home opener is Sunday, February 21 against the Twins. Their last Florida game is March 21 at home against the Twins. After that they play two games in San Francisco.

The Yankees visit on Wednesday, March 17, and the Braves visit twice, on February 27 and March 10. The Red Sox will announce game times and ticket sales later. Bags must be single-compartment and no larger than 12" x 12" x 6". Backpacks aren't allowed.

Minnesota Twins: Hammond Stadium

Hammond Stadium is part of the Lee Health Sports Complex, where the Twins hold their 37th spring in 2027. They play 15 home games. The first is Friday, February 19 against the Rays and the last is Saturday, March 20 against the Braves. The Yankees visit on March 16. The Mets come on March 3, their first visit since 2014.

Shuttles run between the parking lots and the gates. Outside food isn't allowed, and the only outside drink allowed is factory-sealed water, 32 oz or smaller. Bags must be single-compartment and no larger than 12" x 6" x 12". The Twins will announce game times and tickets later, and the box office was still closed in October 2026.

The Chairman's Cup: Red Sox vs. Twins

The two Fort Myers teams play for the Chairman's Cup. In 2027, the Twins play at JetBlue Park on February 21, March 5 (a split-squad day) and March 21. The Red Sox play at Hammond Stadium on February 26 and March 18. Expect these games and the Yankees games to sell out first.

Farther away: Rays and Braves

The Rays play 13 home games here from February 20 through March 16, then finish spring at Tropicana Field. Parking is $15 plus tax, paid in the MLB Ballpark app. The ballpark is cash-free.

The Braves' spring home is near Venice. Home games run from February 21 to March 21. The team's parking page was out of date when we checked, so look at cooltodaypark.com before you go.

Plan a spring training trip from Naples

Leave early. Most spring games start in the early afternoon. Leave north Naples at least 75 minutes before first pitch. That covers the drive, parking and security, and leaves time to watch batting practice.
Expect I-75 traffic. February and March are peak season, and I-75 between Naples and Fort Myers gets heavy, especially at midday and after 3 pm. Both ballparks use Exit 131 (Daniels Parkway). JetBlue Park is east of the exit and Hammond Stadium is west, so the exit is busiest when both teams are at home.
Check for double-header days. On February 19, February 22 and March 10, both Fort Myers ballparks have a game. Choose one, since start times are often close together.
Add a beach evening. After a 1 pm game, you're back in north Naples by late afternoon. Sunset is around 6:30 pm in late February and around 7:30 pm after clocks change on March 14. That leaves time for Vanderbilt Beach or Clam Pass.
Plan for sun. March day games are bright and warm, and many seats have no shade. Bring hats and sunscreen.
Take fewer cars. Red Sox tickets include parking, but the Twins charge $15 a car. Fitting a group of 13 into two or three cars saves money and makes leaving easier.
